Terms of Service

The ground rules for using this website and booking travel through A1 Travels, written to be read rather than skimmed.

Last updated: 17 July 2026

These terms apply to your use of the A1 Travels website (https://www.a1travels.com.au) and to travel services we arrange for you. By using the site, requesting a quote or asking us to make a booking, you accept these terms in full. If you do not accept them, do not use the site or our services. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies rights you hold under the Australian Consumer Law or other legislation that cannot lawfully be excluded; where our liability cannot be excluded it is limited to the fullest extent the law allows, as set out in section 9.

1. Who we are and what we do

A1 Travels (ABN 63 617 339 572) is an Australian travel agency based in Sydney, NSW, and has been in business for 20 years. We act solely as an agent: we arrange flights, and where requested other travel services, with airlines and third-party suppliers on your behalf. At no point are we the carrier, the accommodation provider or the tour operator. The travel itself is provided by those airlines and suppliers under their own terms and conditions of carriage or supply, which you accept when you ask us to book and which apply to your booking in addition to these terms. Any claim relating to the travel service itself lies against the supplier, not against us as agent, except where the law provides otherwise.

2. Quotes and prices

  • Quotes are free, personalised and carry no obligation on either side. A quote is an invitation to continue the conversation, not a contract, and we may withdraw or correct a quote at any time before ticketing.
  • Quoted fares are not offers held open: airfares, taxes, surcharges and seat availability change continuously, and no fare is secured until the airline has issued the ticket. If a fare, tax or charge rises between quote and ticketing, the increase is payable by you; we always confirm the final price with you before payment.
  • We deliberately do not publish fares on this website. Any figures that appear in guides or articles are illustrative context only, are not offers, and cannot be relied on as a price for any service.
  • Obvious errors (including a fare, routing or date shown in error by us, an airline or a booking system) do not bind us, and a booking made on an erroneous fare may be cancelled and refunded rather than honoured.
  • Quoted prices are in Australian dollars and, for flight quotes, include taxes, checked baggage and meals as stated in the quote. Anything not listed in the quote is not included.

3. Payments

  • Payment terms, including any deposit, are stated at the time of booking. Where a deposit is taken, it secures our work on the booking and may be non-refundable once fare rules attach to it.
  • Tickets are issued only after cleared payment. If a payment is declined, reversed or charged back without proper basis, we may cancel affected bookings, and you are liable for any fare difference, supplier fees and reasonable costs (including card and collection costs) that result.
  • Where a supplier or card provider applies a surcharge or fee, that amount is disclosed and payable by you.

4. Bookings, changes and cancellations

  • Every ticket is issued under the fare rules of the airline, which set change fees, cancellation terms, no-show rules and refund eligibility. We explain the applicable rules before you pay; by paying, you accept them. Some fares are wholly non-refundable and non-changeable, and we cannot override an airline's fare rules for you.
  • Changes you request after ticketing may attract airline fees, fare differences and our service fee, all payable by you.
  • If an airline changes or cancels your flight, your remedy is against the airline under its conditions of carriage and applicable law. We will work to rebook or reroute you and will advocate for you, but we do not control airline decisions and are not liable for schedule changes, delays, cancellations, downgrades or denied boarding by any carrier.
  • Refunds flow at the speed airlines and suppliers process them. We lodge and chase refunds on your behalf, but we are not required to fund a refund from our own money before the supplier releases it, and amounts retained by suppliers under their fare rules are not recoverable from us.
  • If you do not use any part of a booking (a no-show, a skipped segment, an unused hotel night), no refund is owed by us for the unused portion beyond what the supplier's rules provide.

5. Your responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the accuracy of all names, dates and details supplied for bookings. Names must match passports exactly. Corrections after ticketing may attract airline fees or require a new ticket at your cost, and we are not liable for the consequences of details you supplied incorrectly.
  • You are responsible for holding a passport valid for your itinerary (generally at least six months beyond travel), for obtaining any visas, transit visas or entry approvals required, and for meeting health, vaccination and biosecurity requirements of every country on your itinerary, including transit points.
  • Visa and entry rules are set by governments, change without notice, and their application to you is a matter between you and the relevant authority. Any guidance we give is general information given in good faith, not migration advice, and we accept no liability if you are refused a visa, refused boarding or refused entry. Verify current requirements with the relevant embassy or official source before travelling.
  • You must check in and present for travel within the times required by the carrier. Missed check-in cut-offs and missed connections arising from your own timing are your responsibility.
  • Travel insurance is strongly recommended for all international travel, and we may decline to proceed with a booking where you refuse cover we consider essential. If you choose to travel uninsured, you carry every risk that insurance would have covered.

6. Website content

  • Guides, destination pages and articles on this site are general information prepared in good faith from sources we consider reliable. They are provided as is. Schedules, visa rules, attraction details, hotel offerings and airline products change constantly, and we make no warranty that any page is complete, current or error-free. Confirm anything critical with us or with an official source before relying on it; nothing on this site constitutes personal advice for your circumstances.
  • We may change, move or remove any content on this site at any time without notice, and we do not warrant that the site will be available, uninterrupted or free of defects.
  • All content on this site, including text, page structure and design, is owned by or licensed to A1 Travels and must not be reproduced, scraped or reused commercially without our written permission.

7. Partner links, widgets and third-party sites

  • Some links and embedded tools on this site lead to third-party partners, including Agoda and Hotels.com (hotels), Viator and Klook (tours, tickets and transport). We may earn a commission when you book through them, at no additional cost to you, as described in our affiliate disclosure.
  • Bookings you make on partner sites are contracts between you and that partner (and their suppliers) under their terms. We are not a party to those bookings, do not handle their payments, cannot alter or refund them, and accept no liability for the products, pricing, availability or conduct of any partner site, though we chose these partners carefully and want to know if one lets you down.
  • Promo codes and deals shown on our pages are offered by the partners, are limited in quantity, may carry conditions, and may be changed, withdrawn or exhausted at any time without notice. A code failing to apply is a matter for the partner, not a claim against us.
  • Third-party widgets load content from the partner's own systems. We are not responsible for their accuracy or for any interruption in their operation.

8. Force majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our services caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to airline or supplier insolvency, industrial action, weather, natural disaster, epidemic or pandemic, government action, border closures, war, civil unrest, terrorism, or failure of third-party systems. Where such an event affects your booking, your remedies are those available under the relevant supplier's terms and applicable law.

9. Liability

  • Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes those guarantees or any other non-excludable right.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for a failure in the agency services we ourselves supply is limited, at our election, to resupplying the service or paying the cost of having it resupplied.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for: the acts, omissions, defaults or insolvency of airlines, hotels, tour operators or any other supplier; loss caused by events beyond our reasonable control; loss arising from your use of third-party websites or partner platforms; loss arising from information on this website; or any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of enjoyment, missed events, lost income or lost opportunity.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability to you in connection with any booking is capped at the service fees you paid to A1 Travels for that booking (excluding amounts we collected and passed on to suppliers).
  • You indemnify us against loss, cost or claim (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your breach of these terms, from inaccurate information you supplied, or from your conduct towards a supplier, except to the extent we caused the loss.

10. Privacy

Our handling of your personal information is described in our privacy policy.

11. General

  • These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales and the Commonwealth of Australia.
  • If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, it is severed and the remainder continues in full force.
  • A failure by us to enforce any right under these terms is not a waiver of that right.
  • These terms, together with your quote and any booking confirmation, are the entire agreement between you and us about the site and our agency services, and supersede any prior representation not recorded in them.
  • We may update these terms from time to time without notice; the version published at this address at the time you use the site or make a booking is the one that applies, with its date shown above.
